Billerica quarterback Nick LaSpada told correspondent Roger Brown that his right knee, which tore his anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in the first quarter of last December's Division 1 playoff against Everett, is "really strong", and that he's "ready to go".
"I was running around and felt great sprinting and cutting," LaSpada told Brown on his recruiting blog. "My speed was still there."
LaSpada, the reigning state Gatorade Player of the Year and in some circles one of the nation's top 2012 recruits, had surgery last January 29 and will still wear a brace on his right knee.
Meanwhile, the father of Masuk's Casey Cochran told Brown that Duke and Michigan State should be verbally offering scholarships today. Cochran, who threw for 2,968 yards and 26 touchdowns last year, is the top-ranked Connecticut player in the Class of 2012. Boston College has already verbally offered him a scholarship.
