Lawrence Academy's Dan Giovacchini has been named one of eight finalists for the Amateur Athletic Union's inaugural High School Sullivan Award, given to the nation's top senior high school athlete that best emphasizes leadership, character, sportsmanship, academics and accomplishment in sport.

In his high school career, earned 12 varsity letters, led undefeated league championship teams in football (running back and linebacker), basketball and baseball. Team captain in all three sports and received all-league or higher honors in all three, as well as league MVP in football. Maintained 4.0 GPA in honors and advanced placement level classes. Also played AAU basketball for six years with the Boston Warriors, winning a state championship and attending six national tournaments. Will attend Brown, where he intends to play football and basketball.
