St. Mark's Starkey commits to Dartmouth

ESPN RISE's Mike Loveday has confirmed that St. Mark's midfielder Gabriella Starkey has verbally committed to Dartmouth for the 2012-13 season.

Starkey registered 69 goals and 27 assists this spring to lead the Lions, and was named the team's MVP.

Loveday caught up with Starkey on her commitment:

What other schools did you consider? “Duke, Georgetown, Princeton, BC, Vanderbilt and Notre Dame.”

Why did you choose Dartmouth? “I chose Dartmouth because I loved Amy Patton's style of coaching, which is very similar to my club coach Lukas Cash's style. I also loved the competition and the passion of the girls on the team. I want to be part of a team that has a strong drive to win but never forgets to work together.”

What surprised you about the recruiting process? “What surprised the most about the recruiting process is how fast it all happened!”
