Three-star quarterback Casey Cochran, the top-rated recruit in Connecticut, committed to the University of Connecticut on Sunday night.
Cochran led Masuk High School to a 13-0 record and the Class L state championship last season, when he was named Connecticut's Gatorade Player of the Year. He completed 200 of 295 pass attempts for 3,345 yards and 40 touchdowns as a junior
“It felt right,” Cochran said. “It's always been a dream for me to play in my home state for UConn. It wasn't too hard of a decision.”
Cochran, who is on pace to graduate from high school in January, said he was also considering Yale and Princeton. He led New London High School to Connecticut's Class SS championship during his freshman season, and then transferred to Masuk.
Cochran received a verbal offer from UConn last Thursday.
