Bridgton Academy PG Skeete a steal for Buffalo

ESPN basketball recruiting analyst Adam Finkelstein has a piece on the National Recruiting blog on three recent mid-major commitments who could end up becoming steals.

One of those includes Bridgton Academy (Maine) post-graduate point guard Jarryn Skeete, a native of Southern Ontario who recently committed to and signed with the University of Buffalo.

Finkelstein writes:

Jarryn Skeete (Brampton, Ontario/Bridgton Academy) to Buffalo

Two years ago, Buffalo landed a steal when it convinced upstate New York product Javon McCrea to stay close to home to play his college basketball. It turned out pretty well as McCrea went on to win MAC Freshman of the Year honors. Earlier this fall, coach Reggie Witherspoon landed another local product in sharpshooter Stan Wier, and on Tuesday he scored what could be another potential steal in Skeete, who will return to within 90 minutes of his family’s home in Brampton, Ontario when he suits up for Buffalo. Skeete was a guy flying just a little under the radar, occasionally overshadowed this summer on a loaded CIA Bounce team and currently spending a prep year at Bridgton Academy. He has the tools to emerge into a game changer for the Bulls. He’s got an instinctive feel for the game, great floor vision and passing ability, and a savvy court demeanor, all of which made him one of the best pure point guards still available in the Northeast.
