ANALYSIS: The Patriots played a 4-3 base defense and then went to a dime package. Two dime packages were employed -- one with four defensive linemen, one linebacker and six defensive backs, and one with three defensive linemen, two linebackers, and six defensive backs. More than half of the snaps were played in the dime, so this was a game in which the defensive backs were asked to do more, both in coverage and in the blitz game. ... Guyton has not missed a snap since Jerod Mayo's injury. ... Meriweather has played every snap the last two weeks and seems to be raising his game to a new level. ... Part of the reason the Patriots are interested in Junior Seau is that they are essentially playing just three linebackers. ... Chung's lone snap came after James Sanders' injury late in the second quarter, in the dime package.
