Miami wild for the Wildcat

ESPN's Stats and Analysis team has tracked the Wildcat usage of every NFL team through eight weeks, and the Patriots are one of 14 clubs not to have utilized the formation.

New England's opponent this week, the Dolphins, easily leads the NFL with 66 plays out of the Wildcat. They have gained 357 yards, for an average of 5.4 yards per play.

The teams with the top Wildcat usage in the NFL, according to ESPN Stats and Analysis tracking:

Dolphins: 66

Eagles: 24

Browns: 24

Jets: 11

Panthers: 5

Broncos: 5

Seahawks: 4

In all, there have been 162 plays run out of the Wildcat leaguewide this season for 747 yards (4.6 average).
