Patriots free-agent tight end Benjamin Watson is scheduled to visit Seattle on Monday, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports. The visit has been confirmed.
The Seahawks' interest comes a bit off the radar as they have a top pass-catching tight end in John Carlson. The Seahawks are implementing a new offensive system, with a focus on zone blocking, and they must see something they like when it comes to fitting Watson into that scheme.
This is considered a less than stellar year on the free-agent market for tight ends and Watson is viewed as one of the few quality options available.
At this point, it looks like a longshot that Watson would return to New England.
