Catching up on some mock drafts

I’m on Day 3 of my four-day journey chipping in on Red Sox coverage here at ESPNBoston.com. I’ve been keeping tabs on the Patriots from afar, and thought it might be interesting to catch up on a few mock drafts.

One aspect that stands out is that there is no consensus.

1. D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal Constitution goes the unconventional route and gives the Patriots Florida quarterback Tim Tebow at No. 22 overall.

2. Pat Kirwan of NFL.com focuses on the defensive line and slots Penn State end Jared Odrick to the Patriots.

3. Don Banks of SI.com locks in on Texas outside linebacker Sergio Kindle.

4. Peter Schrager of FoxSports.com goes with the popular choice of Michigan outside linebacker/defensive end Brandon Graham.

5. Clark Judge and Chad Reuter of CBSSports.com believe that the Patriots will select Oklahoma tight end Jermaine Gresham. Meanwhile Rob Rang likes Texas outside linebacker Sergio Kindle and Pete Prisco goes with Clemson outside linebacker/defensive end Ricky Sapp.
