In 2009, four of the Patriots' 12 draft choices did not attend the NFL's annual combine -- receiver Julian Edelman and offensive linemen Sebastian Vollmer, Rich Ohrnberger and George Bussey.
This year, only one of the team's draft choices was a non-invitee: Georgia defensive lineman Kade Weston (seventh round, 248th overall).
That was one of the nitty-gritty facts unearthed while flipping through the latest edition of Patriots Football Weekly, which annually produces a comprehensive recap of the team's draft picks.
Yet while 11 of the team's 12 draft choices attended the combine, four of them did not work out, a group including tight end Rob Gronkowski, outside linebacker Jermaine Cunningham, tight end Aaron Hernandez and defensive lineman Brandon Deaderick.
That placed a greater emphasis on the team's private workouts in assigning a final grade on the players.
