The Patriots will hold their final open-to-the-public training camp practice Monday at 10 a.m . (update: the practice will now be closed to the public because of rain). The team will then travel to Atlanta later in the day, with two joint practices with the Falcons scheduled for Tuesday.
This represents another checkpoint in the team's preparations for the overall 16-game season and the regular-season opener against the Bengals on Sept. 12. With this in mind, in a piece now posted on ESPNBoston.com, the spotlight was shined on the team's "health report" at this time.
The Patriots had three players who did not finish Sunday afternoon's practice because of injury: outside linebacker Tully Banta-Cain, inside linebacker Thomas Williams and receiver Darnell Jenkins.
The Patriots have been practicing with around 65 players on a daily basis, which is a bit thin for this time of year.
This has led to a constant churning on the back end of the roster to address depth concerns as Bill Belichick manages things with the long-term in mind.
