ATLANTA -- More than half of the NFL's teams are scheduled to be represented by scouts at tonight's game between the Patriots and Falcons.
This is standard operating procedure at this time of the preseason, as teams prepare for the upcoming roster cutdown dates. The first mandatory cutdown is Aug. 31, with teams trimming from 80 to 75 players. The second mandatory cutdown is Sept. 4, when rosters must be reduced to the regular-season limit of 53.
All teams want to be prepared for the possibility of a talented player at a position of need becoming available.
Teams scheduled to be in attendance tonight include:
12. Houston Texans
14. Buffalo Bills
