Secondary still depleted at practice

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The Patriots held their final practice of training camp on Tuesday on the practice fields behind Gillette Stadium. For the second straight day, the practice was held in full pads. Media members were present for stretching and individual drills.

McGowan, Bodden, Edelman still missing. Not present at the start of practice were safeties Brandon McGowan, Bret Lockett, and Josh Barrett; cornerbacks Leigh Bodden and Terrence Wheatley; defensive lineman Darryl Richard; offensive lineman Nick Kaczur; running back Chris Taylor; and wide receiver Julian Edelman. Taylor’s absence could be a sign that his release is among the roster moves the team will make today to cut down to 75 players.

Pryor returns. Defensive lineman Myron Pryor, who was rehabbing in shorts during Monday’s practice, returned in full uniform for Tuesday’s session. However, five players remained out, but were seen in shorts and t-shirts. These players included defensive linemen Ron Brace and Brandon Deaderick; tight end Aaron Hernandez; outside linebacker Jermaine Cunningham; and cornerback Kyle Arrington.
