Chung fined $5K for late hit

Second-year Patriots safety Patrick Chung, who played a big role in the team’s season-opening victory over the Bengals, has been fined $5,000 by the NFL for unnecessary roughness. Chung’s fine was a result of a late hit in Week 1.

Chung was credited with a team-high 16 tackles by in-game statisticians and played a key role in the team’s strong defensive performance.

Chung was not penalized in the game.
