Cleaning out the Patriots' notebook at the start of the week:
1. After both teams played Thursday, the Patriots and Jets have had contrasting approaches in handling the long week before their Dec. 6 game. Bill Belichick won't have the players on the practice field until tomorrow. Meanwhile, Rex Ryan has scheduled a light practice for the Jets today.
2. Tomorrow is the deadline for the Patriots to find out whether their Dec. 12 game at Chicago -- a marquee game on the NFL schedule that week -- will be flexed out of its 1 p.m. ET kickoff. The game isn't likely to be flexed to 8:20 p.m., but a move to 4:15 p.m. ET seems like a reasonable possibility as it figures to be a CBS ratings draw and would reach more homes across the country.
3. When receiving their tickets for 2010 back in July, Patriots season-ticket holders were made aware that next Monday will be "Tedy Bruschi Night" when the team hosts the Jets. In Sunday's Boston Globe, owner Robert Kraft said: "Tedy was kind enough to let us honor him. We know he’s working for ESPN, and knowing what a beloved rival the New York Jets are, we thought it was appropriate."
4. Bill Belichick (noon) and director of player personnel Nick Caserio (12:15 p.m.) are scheduled to hold conference calls with media members today.
