Fewer plays, fewer tackles to make

There was little movement on the Patriots' 2010 tackle leaderboard after Sunday's win over the Bears, in part because the defense was on the field for only 45 snaps (including penalties). The main change came with safety Patrick Chung overtaking Brandon Spikes in the No. 2 spot.

A look at the team's tackle 2010 leaderboard (based on coaches' tabulations):

LB Jerod Mayo -- 162 tackles (98 solo, 64 assisted)

S Patrick Chung -- 75 tackles (56 solo, 19 assisted)

ILB Brandon Spikes -- 71 tackles (41 solo, 30 assisted)

DL Vince Wilfork -- 67 tackles (38 solo, 29 assisted)

CB Devin McCourty -- 66 tackles (57 solo, 9 assisted)

S Brandon Meriweather -- 56 tackles (40 solo, 16 assisted)

S James Sanders -- 56 tackles (36 solo, 20 assisted)

CB Kyle Arrington -- 55 tackles (41 solo, 14 assisted)

LB Gary Guyton -- 50 tackles (37 solo, 13 assisted)

OLB Rob Ninkovich -- 44 tackles (24 solo, 20 assisted)
