Source: Secondary coach won't be back

Corwin Brown, who was hired as New England Patriots secondary coach on Jan. 29, 2010, will not be returning to the team in 2011, according to a league source.

The hiring of Brown, who had played eight years in the NFL, was Bill Belichick’s most notable addition to his staff last year. Brown’s presence gave the team two coaches to work with the secondary -- Brown and defensive backs coach Josh Boyer.

The duties were divided with Brown focusing on the safeties and Boyer on the cornerbacks, according to players.

This is the time of year when coaches have contracts that expire and staff can take on a new look.
