INDIANAPOLIS -- The Patriots' draft needs along the offensive line would take on a different look if the team parts ways with veteran Nick Kaczur.
Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald reported today, citing an unidientified source, that the Patriots have asked Kaczur to cut his $3.4 million. Kaczur does not plan to do so, Rapoport reports.
That could mean the Patriots part ways with Kaczur, which in turn, would shine the spotlight a bit brighter on the offensive tackle position entering the draft, almost ensuring the team would target that area at some point. Starting left tackle Matt Light is an unrestricted free agent, which adds another dynamic to consider. Reserve Quinn Ojinnaka is also an unrestricted free agent.
