Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is not present in Minnesota today for the lockout injunction hearing, according to Newsday NFL columnist Bob Glauber.
Brady's role as one of the plaintiffs in the players' antitrust suit against the NFL has been well documented, in part because his name -- based on where it falls alphabetically -- is listed first: Brady et al vs. NFL et al.
Some have asked if this could hurt Brady's marketing power in the future, and perhaps hurt his personal "brand."
My opinion is "no", and that Brady's name leading off the lawsuit is more symbolic than anything. Compare his involvement to Saints quarterback Drew Brees and it is a significant difference. Brees has been front and center with strong opinions from a public perspective, while Brady has yet to publicly comment on the suit.
