FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Offensive tackle Nate Solder just held a conference call with reporters here at Gillette Stadium (above, watch video of Mike Tirico's interview with Solder after he was picked).
Some soundbites from the conference call with reporters:
Solder watched draft at his parents' Bed & Breakfast. While other top prospects were at Radio City Music Hall, Solder watched at his parents' Bed & Breakfast in Leadville, Colorado -- Peri & Ed's Mountain Hideaway.
Monday workout with Scarnecchia. Solder had his visit to Gillette Stadium canceled the day before it was scheduled to take place, but offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia worked him out in Colorado this past Monday. That workout indicates the Patriots had Solder on their short list and were dotting i's and crossing t's as recently as this week.
Solder missed just two snaps in college. Solder said he's been blessed to have missed just two snaps in college. They came when Colorado was kneeling on the ball. In a related note, Solder played only left tackle in college.
