Patriots cornerback Devin McCourty didn't make the cut in NFL Network's "Top 100" players series -- as voted on by players -- despite a 2010 rookie season that included seven interceptions (2nd in the NFL) and a Pro Bowl berth.
But McCourty showed up on the NFL cornerback radar as USA Today started a series on the Top 10 players at each position. He ranks seventh, garnering 27 points in the voting process.
With McCourty returning at left cornerback, veteran Leigh Bodden potentially returning to form on the right side after missing the 2010 season with a shoulder injury, and second-round pick Ras-I Dowling joining the mix alongside Kyle Arrington, Darius Butler and Co., the Patriots look to have one of the NFL's deeper cornerback groups.
In the USA Today ranking of cornerbacks, Darelle Revis (Jets) is No. 1, followed by Nnamdi Asomugha (Raiders) and Charles Woodson (Packers).
