Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, who grew up in Amherst, NY, attended the 25th annual Jim Kelly Celebrity Golf Tournament on Monday. Gronkowski caught up with Allen Wilson of the Buffalo News, and shared his thoughts on the team's workouts last week.
"We got those three days last week and that was huge," Gronkowski told Wilson. "Everyone got their minds refreshed. Everyone was looking sharp out there. No one was really looking out of shape. It's huge to get together as a team whatever chance you have."
At one point during workouts last week, Gronkowski was on the receiving end of a touchdown pass in 7 on 7 red-zone drills. That's where Gronkowski did some of his best work last season.
When assessing life during the lockout, Gronkowski summed it up in Bill Belichick fashion.
"It is what it is right now," he told Wilson. "You've got to do your own thing in the offseason. You just have to keep working hard and motivating yourself and work with your teammates."
