Soundbites from Friday morning

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Some soundbites from players following Friday morning's walkthrough practice session:

Cornerback Leigh Bodden on Chad Ochocinco: "It's always good to work against good competition. We've got a lot of talented wide receivers. I'm just going to get the work in, whoever they put in front of me. ...His route-running is unique from any [other] receiver."

Wide receiver Julian Edelman on Ochocinco: "I did meet him, and Coach Belichick and [personnel director] Nick Caserio are going to do their best to put talent out there to win ballgames. If he helps the team, it's going to be great for the team. He's a pretty good receiver and I'm looking forward to working with him. ...[If] there's a better player out there, it's going to make other guys better. We're all going to compete. ...I've just to go out there and get better everyday, work hard, and not be so antsy, I guess. ...I'm just going to go out there and compete, work on little things, and become a better receiver."

Bodden on returning from a season-ending shoulder injury: "It's a process. I've got that first day under my belt. I'm feeling good; shoulder's great. I'm just going to continue to work, get my playbook and help this team. ...I'm out here for the long haul. Just like any other player, I'm not out here in a red [non-contact] jersey. I'm out here in a blue jersey. Just ready to go."
