Belichick sheds light on Wright

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Patriots defensive lineman Mike Wright, who led the team with 5.5 sacks last season, has missed the last three weeks of training camp. Combine that with Wright missing the final seven games of the 2010 season with a concussion, and coach Bill Belichick was asked this morning about his level of concern about Wright's status.

"I don't think anything that happened last year is related to anything going on this year," Belichick responded.

That sheds some light on Wright's absence.

Had Wright been dealing with another concussion, or something similar to that, it might have put his football future in question. But Wright's absence sounds like something altogether different, which provides important context.
