Projecting the roster, Part IV

In our fourth installment of dueling 53-man roster projections, safety was one position under the spotlight. All three previous projections had veteran James Sanders on the roster, so this focused more attention on Josh Barrett and James Ihedigbo.

Barring a veteran addition, Thursday's preseason finale figures to be important for both players as they appear to be fighting for a fourth spot on the safety depth chart. Barrett gets a slight edge because of his background with special teams coach Scott O'Brien from when he played for the Broncos. Both Barrett and Ihedigbo will have to make their mark on special teams.

Also, both projections trimmed the numbers at receiver by one, with Brandon Tate the odd man out.

There was a difference of opinion on the following players on the dueling projections:

RB Sammy Morris

G Rich Ohrnberger

DE Mark Anderson

DL Gerard Warren
