Podcast: Bruschi & Reiss on NFL, Pats

In the debut ESPNBoston.com podcast of the 2011 football season, Tedy Bruschi and Mike Reiss share their thoughts on the New England Patriots and the NFL.

What are some realistic hopes for the Patriots?

"I think it's going to be a great year for the Patriots. I think they win the AFC East," Bruschi says. "With the Jets competing with them closely, it's going to be a dogfight between those two teams, but I think the Patriots win the East, and the Jets will be a wild-card, so they may see them again in the playoffs. I'd say 12-4 is what I'm giving the Pats."

But Bruschi doesn't pick the Patriots to be in the Super Bowl. He envisions the Baltimore Ravens getting over the hump and representing the AFC.

"I can't pick them every year," Bruschi cracks.

The podcast includes a breakdown of Monday night's game against the Dolphins, and concludes with Bruschi answering questions from followers about Randy Moss, the Patriots' offensive line, and Dane Fletcher's transition from college defensive end to NFL linebacker, which is similar to the transition Bruschi made in his career.
