Quick hits from Patriots locker room

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Some quick-hit thoughts from a busy day of media access in the Patriots' locker room (11:15 a.m.-noon):

1. Players drawing large media crowds included DT Albert Haynesworth, DE Shaun Ellis, CB Leigh Bodden, TE Aaron Hernandez, G/C Dan Connolly, OL Donald Thomas, and QB Tom Brady.

2. Offensive lineman Thomas Welch, who was released on Tuesday, still had personal belongings in his locker stall. This could be a sign that Welch may return to the team's practice squad once he clears waivers.

3. According to Tom Curran of Comcast SportsNet New England, safety Josh Barrett was spotted in the locker room with a cast over his left thumb and wrist. Barrett did not finish Monday night's game, missing the final few series while being spotted with a member of the team's medical staff.

4. Players receiving black practice jerseys for their performance in practice last week were WR Julian Edelman, LB A.J. Edds, OT Matt Kopa, and S Ross Ventrone.

5. Newly-signed offensive lineman Donald Thomas appears to have been assigned No. 64.
