Tom Brady is coming off a franchise record for passing yards.FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- A few tidbits to watch with regards to the Patriots' passing game this week, courtesy of our friends at ESPN Stats and Info:

* After passing for a franchise record 517 yards last week, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady can take aim at Phil Simms' NFL record for passing yards in consecutive games this week. He needs 428 to match Simms (945 in Weeks 5-6 in 1985).

* The Chargers were among the best pass defenses in the NFL on throws of at least 15 yards last season. After being tested just once by Donovan McNabb in Week 1, the Chargers face Tom Brady, who completed 7-of-11 passes for 268 yards and a touchdown on such throws in Week 1.

* Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has won 28 consecutive regular-season games at home, the longest such streak in NFL history. Brady is already well ahead of the previous mark set by Brett Favre (25) from 1995-98. In his past five starts at home, Brady has produced 11 touchdowns and no interceptions with a 126.5 passer rating.

* The Patriots have scored 30 or more points in nine straight regular-season games, matching a franchise record set in 2006-07. The St. Louis Rams hold the NFL record with 14 straight games with 30 or more points in 1999-2000.
