Offensive lineman Matt Kopa is making an impact at practice.FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Each week after the Patriots win, coaches recognize the best practice players of the week with a black jersey. For someone like practice squad offensive lineman Matt Kopa, a "practice player of the week" honor like that means a lot.

"I take a lot of pride in getting a black jersey," said Kopa, a 6-foot-6, 303-pound second-year blocker from Stanford. "It's trying to give the best look to help the defense, doing everything to the best of my ability."

Kopa, who joined the practice squad after being waived by the Dolphins at September's roster cutdown, is the only player on the Patriots to earn the black jersey two weeks in a row. He played Dolphins right guard Vernon Carey in the first week, then played a variety of roles last week in preparation for the Chargers.
