Quick hits from the locker room

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Quick hits from the media-access period in the locker room today:

1. Players drawing large media crowds included defensive end Shaun Ellis and cornerback Devin McCourty. Overall, it was a quiet day in the room.

2. Tight end Aaron Hernandez walked through the room twice and appeared to be moving well. He didn't stop to chat with reporters, answering one question by saying he feels great. While it's always dangerous to read too much into how a player walks through a locker room, it seems newsworthy to point out that Hernandez didn't limp much, if at all.

3. Practice squad defensive back Josh Victorian will wear Darius Butler's old No. 28.

4. Long snapper Danny Aiken, who got his start with the Bills in training camp as a rookie free agent, respectfully declined comment when approached by reporters about his return to Buffalo. You know it's a tough day when you're getting turned down by the long snapper.

5. No sign of punter Zoltan Mesko for the second day in a row. He's usually a regular.
