Every week on ESPNBoston.com, Tedy Bruschi and Mike Reiss team up for a Patriots podcast. This week's podcast has been posted on the site (link here), and the two open the discussion by pointing out some NFL surprise teams, as well as clubs that have disappointed at the quarter mark of the season.
Then Patriots linebacker Rob Ninkovich joins Bruschi and Reiss for the first player-based interview as part of the podcast, reflecting on his career progression and how things have unfolded for him in New England.
Bruschi and Reiss then look closer at Sunday's game against the Jets, and Bruschi started with the Jets' offense.
"I don't think they know who they are. I think they're in somewhat of an identity crisis," he said.
When it comes to the Jets' defense, Bruschi talks about how he'll be watching closely to see what coach Rex Ryan comes up with to take away receiver Wes Welker.
"It's still amazing to me how defenses in the NFL are letting Wes Welker just run clean through defenses, how they don't have someone on the line of scrimmage jamming him," Bruschi said. "If it's that much of a problem, you double team that guy."
The podcast finishes with Bruschi answering questions from followers on Twitter.
