The Patriots stayed busy despite being on their bye week, working out defensive end Trevor Pryce and linebacker Mike Rivera on Thursday.
A 14-year veteran, the 36-year old Pryce has played for the Broncos, Ravens, and Jets. At 6-foot-5, 290 pounds, Pryce has experience in both 4-3 and 3-4 defenses, and has recorded 91.0 career sacks. His workout comes days after defensive linemen Ron Brace and Brandon Deaderick, who are on the physically unable to perform list, resumed practicing.
Rivera, 25, has been a member of the Bears, Titans, Packers, and Dolphins after going undrafted in 2009 out of Kansas, but has yet to appear in a regular season game. At 6-foot-2, 252 pounds, Rivera's workout could be related to the absence of linebacker Dane Fletcher (thumb) at practice this week.
Adam Caplan of Sirius-XM Radio was the first to report the workouts.
