Welker expected to play: ESPN.com AFC East blogger James Walker reports that Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker will play today, barring a late change. Welker suffered a neck injury last Sunday against the Steelers and missed Wednesday's practice. He is officially listed as questionable on the injury report.

Bradshaw out for Giants: Leading rusher Ahmad Bradshaw (foot) has been ruled out for the Giants, after having not traveled to New England. Also not playing for the Giants is leading receiver Hakeem Nicks (hamstring), and starting center David Baas (knee), who both did not make the trip.

Other injuries and gametime decisions: For the Patriots, one injury situation that bears watching is defensive end Shaun Ellis (ribs), who practiced this week but will likely be a gametime decision, listed as questionable on Friday's injury report. If he can't go, Brandon Deaderick will likely get the call as a starter.

For the Giants, defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, who has started all 7 games this season, is questionable with a concussion, after not having practiced on Friday. ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reports that Pierre-Paul has been medically cleared to play.

Inactives will be announced 90 minutes before gametime (2:45 p.m.).

Television information: Today's game will be televised on Fox, with Joe Buck (play-by-play), Troy Aikman (analysis), and Pam Oliver (sideline reporter) on the call.

Scouts in the house: Scouts for the Jets and 49ers are scheduled to be in attendance, with the Patriots traveling to New York and the Giants traveling to San Francisco next weekend. Cole Hufnagel, whose father John coached the Patriots' quarterbacks for their Super Bowl-winning 2003 season, is the Jets scout in the press box.

National anthem: Today's national anthem will be sung by the United States Coast Guard Academy Glee Club: Cadet Second Class Samuel Ruby and Cadet Fourth Class Victoria Gurtler. The Color Guard is Veternas of Foreign War (VFW) Post 1822 from Plymouth, Mass.
