FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The Patriots were without two offensive tackles for their final practice of the week on Friday, with rookie Marcus Cannon joining Sebastian Vollmer (back/foot) as those not spotted at practice.
The reason for Cannon's absence is not clear at this point, but Friday's injury report, to be released at 4 p.m., will shed more light on his status.
With Vollmer missing all of this week's practices, he will likely not travel to Sunday's game in Washington. If Cannon is also unable to play, it would leave Matt Light and Nate Solder at the position, making practice squad offensive tackle Matt Kopa a candidate for a promotion on Saturday.
Meanwhile, rookie running back Stevan Ridley returned to practice on Friday after missing two days to fly home for a personal matter.
Linebacker Brandon Spikes (knee) also practiced for a second straight day, improving his chances of playing on Sunday against the Redskins.
