Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowsi.Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was a guest on ESPN Radio's "Mike & Mike" program on Tuesday morning, as his national profile continues to rise as arguably the NFL's best player at his position (link to interview here).
At the end of the interview, host Mike Golic congratulates Gronkowski on the Pro Bowl in advance (final voting is not yet complete).
The interview starts with Gronkowski reflecting on his current position after dropping to the second round in the 2010 draft because of a back injury.
"It's pretty crazy. Surreal," Gronkowski says. "It's kind of like it doesn't really feel like it's happening."
Gronkowski talks about listening to the coaching staff -- "99 percent of the time, it's always true" -- and what it's like to play with quarterback Tom Brady.
"He's just a true professional, always up on his game, always high tempo, always getting the offense rolling whether it's practice or game day, whatever it is," he says. "He's a great leader overall."
