FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Safety Patrick Chung (foot) and offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer (back/foot) remained out of practice for the third straight day this week as the team wrapped up on-field preparations for Sunday's game in Denver.
Both players are unlikely to make the trip to Denver on Friday, and will most likely be declared out for the game as soon as Friday evening. While Chung is set to miss his sixth consecutive game, his missing practice this week represents a possible setback in his recovery, after having practiced the past several weeks.
Meanwhile, defensive tackle Vince Wilfork did not participate in the majority of stretching, the only segment of practice open to the media. Wilfork instead had his ankles taped by trainers on the sideline, which does not necessarily suggest an injury, but nonetheless was an unusual sight for that point in practice. Wilfork, along with quarterback Tom Brady, has been listed as limited in practice for non-injury reasons the past two days, the subject of an exchange between reporters and head coach Bill Belichick on Friday morning.
The practice was held inside the team's fieldhouse, possibly allowing the team to better simulate crowd noise during practice. Players were in light shoulder pads for the third time this week.
