ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports on Saturday that Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo has signed a five-year contract extension. Financial terms of the deal have not yet been reported.
Mayo had been in the fourth year of his rookie contract, which was set to expire after the 2012 season. Prior to the extension, he was slated to make $750,000 in base salary next season, according to NFLPA records.
