Quick hits from the locker room

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Quick hits from the media-access period in the locker room today (2:05-2:50 p.m. ET):

1. Players drawing larger media crowds included WR Wes Welker, LB Jerod Mayo and CB Devin McCourty. QB Tom Brady walked through as he was exiting the locker room.

2. Injured LB Brandon Spikes was present in the locker room as reporters arrived, but departed quickly upon spotting the visitors in the room.

3. It isn't a season finale if players aren't asked if they expect to play the whole game. The question was answered decisively by those who spoke with reporters. "Absolutely," Welker said, adding that he expects quarterback Tom Brady to do the same. "This is a big game for us. We understand that and know that we have to go out there and play well to win."

4. A lot of Twitter chatter with Welker and McCourty, with the issue brought up by reporters. OL Ryan Wendell wore a T-shirt with safety Ross Ventrone's Twitter handle (@RustyBenson35) and a bunch of hashtags on it, which reflected how Twitter is big with some players.
