Wake-up call: Pats Monday plan

INDIANAPOLIS -- A look at what's ahead today for the Patriots:

First practice of the week. The Patriots will hold their first practice since arriving in town Sunday. A pool reporter will not be granted access to this practice. If a pool reporter was allowed into Patriots practice Monday, it would create a situation where the Patriots had four pool reports from practice during the week, while the Giants -- who won't practice until Wednesday -- have just three. This ensures equal access to both teams on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Media schedule. Coach Bill Belichick is scheduled to hold a news conference at 3:30 p.m. (at JW Marriott, media hotel). Players who will be made available to the media (at 3:50 p.m.) include receiver Deion Branch, safety Patrick Chung, running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis, offensive tackle Matt Light, cornerback Devin McCourty, and defensive lineman Vince Wilfork.

Storylines to watch. We'll keep an eye on New York and the reaction to Tom Brady's pep-rally comments. ... Does Bill Belichick's relaxed approach with reporters change. ... Does the team practice inside to get ready for its first indoor game of the season? ... Any new developments with injured tight end Rob Gronkowski.
