Pats playing Gronk too close to the vest?

In her latest column, ESPN.com NFL columnist Ashley Fox takes issue with the Patriots' handling of Rob Gronkowski's ankle injury, saying the "Patriot Way" means protecting information at all costs. From her piece:

When a player enters the New England organization, he gets more than just a playbook. He gets the Patriot handbook for not disclosing anything of interest regarding anything to do with anything about the organization. Not schedules, not plays, not personnel groupings, not what you had for breakfast.

Rule No. 1: Don't discuss injuries. In other words, don't tell the truth, which some people would call lying.

For us here in New England, the team keeping injury information top secret is nothing new. That's been the status quo since Bill Belichick took the reins in 2000. But is that the way it should be? Do you see the Patriots' smokescreen as a form of lying? Would you like to see the team take a more transparent approach to revealing injuries?
