Wayne chose Colts over Pats

Free-agent receiver Reggie Wayne, writing in his journal on his official website, described his decision-making process in returning to the Colts (3 years, $17.5 million).

"It came down to three teams actually. Well..... kinda four teams at first. Then three and then two. And you Colts fans don't wanna know who other team was. I'll let you figure that one out. Ha!"

While Wayne hinted it was the Patriots, Greg A. Bedard of the Boston Globe confirmed it, citing a league source.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick's admiration for Wayne has been well documented. The team's reported interested in Wayne reflects that Belichick has an upgrade at receiver on his radar.
