Gronk still in walking boot

Third-year Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was a guest on the "Scott Van Pelt Show" on ESPN Radio on Tuesday, as part of a promotional appearance for Xbox 360 "Call of Duty."

After listening to the interview, the two biggest takeaways from here were:

1. Gronkowski is still in a walking boot after undergoing surgery on his injured ankle.

2. One area he'd like to improve this offseason is getting out of his routes quicker.

A few soundbites:

Ankle rehab. "I'm just chilling. Just in a walking boot, getting better every day. Every week getting better and can't wait until I'm 100 percent healthy so I can get out there and do what we have to do in the offseason."

On the attention he receives as an NFL player. "It definitely has changed my life a lot. It gets a little hectic sometimes and a little too crazy. I guess it comes with the territory of what we do."

Offseason plan to get better. "Just overall everything. Breaking down on my routes, that's one thing I want to get better at, getting out of the route quicker, the cuts. Basically just focusing on the whole game overall -- from the blocking to the receiving aspects."

On if he feels he has a lot of work to do this offseason. "Yeah, definitely, you have a lot of work to do because you don't want to go downhill. In order to have another year like that, to have more success, you have to keep on grinding and doing what you're doing. There are no let-ups."
