FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Patriots defensive end Jake Bequette's father is an attorney, and the 2012 third-round pick will consider the same profession when his NFL career is over.
Good thing, because like a lawyer, Bequette said all the right things in his first gathering with reporters at Gillette Stadium on Friday.
"Just do whatever I can to help the team," Bequette said when asked what he was looking to accomplish this weekend at the team's rookie minicamp. "Just be here, be seen, working as hard as I can, just to try to establish myself."
The 23-year old Bequette, a four-year starter at Arkansas, handled the large media scrum around him like an established veteran.
"College is done," he said. "I'm a professional now, and I need to work and act accordingly."
