ESPNBoston's Mike Reiss joined NFL Live to discuss which Patriots wide receivers are likely to get cut before the season.
Reiss says that Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd have to be considered as locks at the top of the depth chart, and he also thinks old Tom Brady favorite Jabar Gaffney is safe, which leaves only a fourth, fifth and possibly sixth spot on the roster. Special-teams ace Matthew Slater is surely in the mix, and Reiss thinks that Ochocinco and Stallworth might suffer because they're not really viewed as special-teams contributors.
Reiss also addresses the Patriots' plans at running back. He thinks the team is banking on second-year backs Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen to headline the committee approach. But don't forget veteran Joseph Addai, the former Colts RB who signed with the Pats this offseason.
Now it's your turn to weigh in. Which receivers do you think the Pats should release? Share your thoughts on WRs, and RBs, in the comments section.
