Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard pleaded not guilty on charges of third-degree assault of a police officer on Tuesday, the Omaha World-Herald reports.
The charges stem from an incident on April 21, just five days before the NFL Draft, in which Dennard reportedly struck an officer outside of a Lincoln, Neb. bar.
A follow-up court date has not yet been determined.
Dennard, who played collegiately at Nebraska, was selected 224th overall in last month’s draft and recently signed a four-year contract with the Patriots.
