On Wednesday night, NFL Network will reveal the top ten selections for its "Top 100 players of 2012" series. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who was voted the top player in 2011, is still in the running entering the final unveiling of the list.
And while it’s unclear if Brady will reign supreme on that ranking, he has already been crowned king by FoxSports.com’s Peter Schrager, who compiled his own list of the top 100 players in the NFL for 2012.
Previously both Aaron Hernandez and Logan Mankins were announced on Schrager’s top 100, checking in at No. 98 and No. 69 respectively. Other Patriots to crack the countdown were Wes Welker (No. 37), Rob Gronkowski (No. 27), and Vince Wilfork (No. 23).
The list constructed by the players, which has generated quite a bit conversation amongst fans and analysts, included Wilfork (No. 81), Mankins (No. 64), Welker (No. 23) and Gronkowski (No. 21).
