Second-year Patriots running back Stevan Ridley returned home to Natchez, Mississippi as part of a "Hometown Huddle" fundraising event organized by his mother, Carolyn.
In a well-written piece, Justin Whitmore of the Natchez Democrat recaps Ridley's appearance, which included Ridley's thoughts on the 2012 season in New England.
"Everything I could have asked for is right in front of me," Ridley said. "...I'm going into this year focused with an edge I've never had."
Ridley, who was interviewed by a local sports commentator in front of a large crowd, also explained the way quarterback Tom Brady and coach Bill Belichick go about their business.
"Tom Brady runs that organization. You have to be on Tom Brady's page," he said.
As for Belichick, Ridley said, "If it doesn't involve the team, winning, or us at the New England Patriots, he's not concerned."
