The E:60 segment on Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski that premiered earlier this month is now available online, embedded at the top of this blog entry. Narrated by ESPN's Jeremy Schaap, the 16-minute segment goes in depth on what makes Gronk Gronk.
"Everyone grows up and they say they're going to do this I'm going to do that," Gronk tells Schaap. "And that was one of my things you can ask my brothers. I was like, I'm going to be the craziest dude in the NFL. I'm going to be playing and scoring, but also I'm going to do funny things."
E:60 gave Gronkowski a video camera to help document the "Summer of Gronk" offseason, the footage capturing moments like the night of his 23rtd birthday celebration.
The segment also includes home video from his birth and interviews with his mother, father and four brothers. Rob was the second-youngest among the five Gronkowski siblings.
"His brothers used to beat the living crap out of him, but it didn't scare him," says his father, Gordie.
If you missed it the first time, it's definitely 16 minutes well spent. It's a fun look at the side of Gronkowski that doesn't come across in locker room interviews or his play on the field.
