Hernandez, Mankins miss practice

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Tight end Aaron Hernandez (ankle) and guard Logan Mankins (calf/hip) were among five players who did not participate in the Patriots' Thursday practice, held in shells on the team's practice fields behind Gillette Stadium.

Hernandez returned to game action in Week 6 for the first time since Week 2, and told reporters earlier Thursday that his right ankle was "feeling great." Both he and Mankins were limited participants in the team's walkthrough practice on Wednesday.

Safety Steve Gregory (hip), who was present for the walkthrough on Wednesday on a limited basis, also was absent on Thursday. For the second consecutive day, running back Brandon Bolden (knee) and linebacker Tracy White (foot) did not practice.

The only addition to Thursday's practice report was defensive lineman Ron Brace, who was limited due to a back issue, according to the team.

A group of eight players, which includes wide receivers Wes Welker and Julian Edelman, linebacker Dont'a Hightower, and safety Patrick Chung, was limited for the second straight day.
