Jones fined for hit on Brady

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Seahawks defensive lineman Jason Jones was fined $15,750 for his helmet-to-helmet hit of quarterback Tom Brady in the third quarter of Sunday's game, the NFL announced.

Jones was penalized for unnecessary roughness on the play, which came on the final snap of the third quarter when Brady hooked up with running back Danny Woodhead on a 4-yard gain.

Jones was the only player fined in the game.

Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes had also picked up an unnecessary roughness penalty in the fourth quarter for making contact with the helmet of Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. Spikes was rushing when his out-stretched arm/hand make contact with the helmet of Wilson, but the play didn't result in a fine.
